Water Coolers serve us with chilled water

Water Coolers

Water Coolers are appliances that cool water and dispense it. These coolers are also known as water dispensers. These coolers can be categorized into bottled water coolers and coolers without bottles. Bottled coolers needs self pick up or delivery of water from the vendors in large bottles. Coolers without bottles are hanged or hooked to the supply of water.

Types

There are two types of Water Coolers which include –

Freestanding

Freestanding Water Coolers
These freestanding coolers have spout fitted on the cooler, where the bottles are placed to dispense water from the device. Worktops of kitchens or table tops are used for placing these dispensers with five liter water bottles installed on it. The water is cooled in these appliances using thermoelectric cooling devices and the water is pushed into the cooling chamber using the air pumps. Countertop appliances are the most advanced coolers which are connected with the main water supply to dispense instant supply of boiling, hot or chilled water.
Wall mounted
Wall Mounted Water Coolers

The coolers mounted on the wall are connected to the water supply of the building which uses electricity to operate the refrigeration system to chill the incoming water and it also disposes unused water in the water disposal system of the building. The coolers that are wall mounted are also known as drinking fountains or water fountains which serve instant cool water to the user with the help of the storage system in the appliance that stores chilled water. A button is pressed to deliver the water. On top of the appliance a spring loaded valve is present and the button is placed on it which helps the water to be released. The stream of water delivered arches up so that the user can easily drink from the water source. These coolers deliver water from the municipal water supply directly without any filtering or treatment.

Cleaning process of coolers

Water coolers should be regularly cleaned so that healthy service for years is delivered by it and at the same time the cooler should also remain bacteria and germ free. Some very easy steps to clean the coolers include-
  • Whenever the bottle is changed the cooler should be cleaned, at least every six weeks.
  • The reservoir must be rinsed with clean water after using mild solution to scrub and clean it.
  • The drip tray should also be removed and washed with a mild soap and rinsed thoroughly.
  • New bottle should be installed after washing the hands. The neck and the top of the bottle should also be cleaned before installing and the expiry date should also be checked.
These coolers are readily available online. Persons interested in them can browse through the various websites of the manufacturers and directly avail from them.
